  • 20020226 : A beta release is almost ready and needs to be packaged properly before released

What is it ?

gPIKT is a Perl/Gtk application that runs on the piktmaster, and present your PIKT managed systems and files in a convenient hierarchical layout. If PIKT is unknown to you, check it's home site.
gPIKT sits on piktc and thus you can act on every PIKT element as you can do with piktc :

  • publish, delete, diff elements (files, alerts, objects, programs)
  • execute alerts, programs
  • (double)check configs
  • restart/kill alert/service daemons
  • enable/disable alerts

You can also publish all files (or objects, or...) of one host (or all hosts) in a single click. An default exclusion list automatically exclude hosts/groups from executed actions.
A history enabled shell can help you to execute piktc commands unimplemented in gPIKT, like publishing a single file on several hosts.

Plugins can be written for gPIKT to extend it's feature set. Actually, only one exists : the Config plugin that allow one's to parse the PIKT config files on the piktmaster, and edit them with your favorite editor.

Getting gPIKT

A beta release is in the works, it should be out around spring.
